Brave : cult member, runaway, captive, starlet, victim, sex symbol, justice seeker
McGowan, Rose
Notes
Summary: In Hollywood McGowan was continually on display, and stardom soon became a personal nightmare of constant exposure and sexualisation. She escaped into the world of her mind, something she had done as a child, and into high-profile relationships. She was supposed to be silent and cooperative and to stay the path. Instead, she rebelled and asserted her true identity and voice. This is her raw, honest, and poignant memoir/manifesto: an exposé about an entertainment industry built on systemic misogyny.Custom 2

10/04/2019 14:32:11 | This is about actress Rose McGowan and her struggle through various cults, the biggest one being Hollywood. This book is very serious and can be quite confronting so I would recommend thinking it through before reading it. It is interesting but covers rape and sexual assault. |
